By placing an emphasis on natural light, generous room sizes and a series of outdoor spaces, we achieved our client’s desire to make this small home feel large. As an old worker’s cottage, this house was traditionally long, dark and narrow. Our extension features carefully placed windows that maximise light and frame views, creating a sense of openness. Outdoor living is prioritised, with garden spaces for growing, cooking, sun baking and entertaining. A herb patch can be accessed from the kitchen by a long, low window, and full height sliding doors seamlessly connect the living spaces to the deck and barbeque area.
