A celebration of material and texture in a personal and intimate setting, Pitch was commissioned to create the new home of Ballarat’s local fine dining restaurant Underbar. Nestled within the heritage conversion of Hotel Vera in a 19th Century mansion, Underbar is the point of convergence of the boutique accommodation and exquisite culinary experiences.

Synonymous with chef Derek Boath’s delectable creations, Underbar’s materiality celebrates the contrast of textures, colour and warmth using careful combination of timber, natural stone and steel. The details are deliberately minimal as the chief agenda is for the textures and colours to be at the forefront.
